Received $3.9 million investment from the WNY Impact Investment Fund over the course of multiple funding rounds
Led by founder and CEO Jon Williams, Viridi occupies a formerly abandoned auto factory on Buffalo’s East Side, which it has turned into a modern advanced manufacturing campus. The company has evolved into a powerhouse of onsite energy storage and generation products, which is being used at everything from commercial buildings to data centers to wastewater treatment plants.
Viridi has introduced a unique workforce program, with an internal nonprofit called GreenForce, which onboards and supports employees from the factory’s surrounding neighborhoods. Viridi employs nearly 200 in Buffalo with the plans to grow significantly in the coming years.
